Patuoxun USB 3.0 External CD/DVD-RW Drive Review

Patuoxun USB 3.0 External CD/DVD-RW Drive Review

Firstly let me start by saying I don’t actually own any internal DVD drives, simply because some of the PC cases and ultrabooks I use don’t actually come with a CD/DVD drive, which is usually to save space. If you look at my PC case for instance, it doesn’t have any front-facing drive bays. I actually used this drive to install my new operating system which is fantastic and usually I would use a USB stick but this drive supports USB3.0. The install flew away at a speed that was actually comparable to a USB installation and the install completed without any errors.

I then proceeded to burn a few disks, which is something I actually do quite often. Being a photographer sometimes clients like to get a copy of their photos on a disk, and I had zero problems using this functionality. In comparison to a normal built-in CD/DVD drive I didn’t notice any speed loss, the disks themselves came out error free which is always a good sign. The device itself is very slim and looks super sleek.

So the product works as advertised and is a reasonable price. I really liked that the device is small enough to put in a laptop bag and the cable that is actually built in makes it easy to use, a very well thought out product. You can buy the product from Amazon here.

Disclaimer: I received this product for free in exchange for an honest review of the product, the above is my opinion of the product.
